Should I get my tires balanced on my boat trailer?

I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to get my trailer tires balanced? What kind of place would I take it to like just a regular tire place or someone that specializes in trailers.

Any tire shop can balance a trailer tire

all tires should be balanced. It is like a hard spot on the tire getting slapped every rotation when not in balance. It is a cheap away to make your tires last longer and have no problems with tire slap.

Agree...... Tires will wear better and less stress on the suspension.

Well worth the few bucks to balance them.

Yes you should do it (huge difference). I balance all my tires (even the 8" ones on my jet ski trailer), I use to haul to the beach alot (about 300 miles) and it does make a difference.

I always get mine balanced. It is a much smoother ride and tire wear is even.

If you don't balance the wheels/tires, try towing the trailer and see/feel what it is like.

I had gotten a new trailer and when I got on the highway, my entire truck was shaking and the trailer was about bouncing up and down on the road. I promptly stopped at the first tire shop and they balanced all 4 wheels and the problem was solved.

As my tires started to wear, I noticed one of my fenders on the trailer shaking during a certain speed. New tires and a balancing and everything was smooth again.

No doubt that balancing has to be done. Most of the vibration gets masked from the boat/trailer suspension and its isolation from the tow vehicle but imagine what the imbalance must do to the bearings et-al.

I have never had any trailer tire balanced and have no intention of starting
I have never noticed any vibration either but then my trailers are much heavier (6-10k) than many... It is probably a good idea but isn't always absolutely mandatory
