g'day mate's

got my old 73 80hp mercury fitted and took it out for run on the local lake and it goes great
pulls about 35 miles per hour on my 16 footer(heavy boat) even pulled up a skier, just (big bloke thougth 240 pound 6 foot 6 inchers)

just got two questions
there is 2 pipes coming out of the motor that squirt water one looks a though it use to be hooked up to a presure gauge and the other in the telltale(can't see this one from the drivers seat) so should I get a gauge and run the hose up to the front dash ?

and the telltale seams to have more presure than the other hose.Is this correct? or can't is see straight

cheers to ya all

ps have not changed the impella as there seems to be heaps of water out the telltale

Can you remember the last time the impeller was changed? If not change it for piece of mind. It's a good idea to hook up a water pressure gauge so you can see how much water running thru your cooling system. Make a note of the readings-then all you have to do is keep an eye on it to tell when somethings wrong. A temp gauge is not a bad idea either because a cold running motor is bad news too. You can get gauges at www.teleflex.com or www.surplusunlimited.com.

Dutch
