runs good 120 compression even,
but i found out its a 1981, looks to be in good shape,no corrision at all but i have no idea how long it will last if i do all the upkeep. It does not get used offten as its my kicker, but as my kicker i want something thats reliable enough to get me home, any suggestion as to the reliability of this motor ?

thanks in advance

It's just as reliable as anything new. Keep it.

I had an old 5HP kicker on my first boat that got me out of some tight spots when the main engine failed. I also used it on a dinghy to explore tidal rivers and shallows. It was a great little engine: a new spark plug, lube/oil and twenty minutes in a fresh water barrel every year kept it humming.
