Re: Should I worry?

I think you're fine. 10-15% difference in reading is allowable...

I wouldn't worry. I'd run it awhile and recheck to see if all the carbon is out. should be fine

Im at a loss .

What possible good would it do for you to test your neighbors motor ?

If you mean the compression, all that will do ,is tell him what your neighbors motor's comp. is.

If I'm wrong, please explain it to me.

if it;s idleing properly , and not bogging on take off, i'd say your good to go. run it for a while then check the plugs, for any differences in color, wet or dry. as long as they all look the same and it's not missing or acting up you are good.

Re: Should I worry?

OK results from this weekend.Backed boat in and started. Motor starts and runs approx 15 seconds and shuts off.(Did the slow 10 count on start-up with the choke).Bulb is hard and stays hard.Vro disconnected and pre mixing. Fuel filter clean(new)Came home and checked fire all jump and blue.Pulled wires with engine running.Bottom port cylinder makes little difference. Pulled plug and replaced(new plugs bought extras) Still same. sprayed gas/oil mix in cylinder through carb. little to no change 90 psi compression.I do not have a leakdown tester so not sure of cylinder seal.I regularly run 15 miles off shore and don't want to use my seatowd:).Ideas? I have the seloc manual which came with the boat and am waiting upon the arrival of the oem.
