Have a 1988 Bayliner OMC 5.7. On the 3 solenoids, that are mounted to the outdrive shift bracket ,
that is mounted on the top of the intake manifold on the starboard side. Some previous owner has
installed an inline fuse holder with a 30 amp. fuse in it on the back solenoid that faces the back of the boat ,
on the main wire to the large post (positive) and this wire comes from the large terminal (positive) on the
starter solenoid, and goes to no other connection. After running the engine at full throttle, then shutting the engine down, it blows the fuse.
I'M thinking that it puts to much amps. thru that 10 gauge wire. and blows the fuse, with the 51 amp. alternator
it has on it. I don't think it needs a fuse there any way? The other 2 solenoids with there positive post wires donot
have any fuse on them.
Thanks for any help.
