should my coolant water be squirting out constantly or intermittently??

I just bought a 9.9 1994 merc outboard and I noticed when I've run it at around 3/4 to full throttle, the stream of water still comes out intermittently, not constantly. is this Normal, or should I be concerned?

Water should come out constantly. even in neutral

I agree..............when was the impellar last replaced?

dont know exactly, when it does so tho, it comes out with descent pressure. it seems to go from on to off in even intervals. I figured it could also be the thrmostat??? is this also a possibility?
