Should my engine start peeing right away?

I have a 1967 Johnson 60Hp 4 cylinder, should my engine start peeing right away after i start it up?

After about 5 secs and no more than 10 your engine should start to "Pee" If not check impeller/water pump.<br />PS.<br />Your lucky,my engine starts to fart when it starts up. :)

That old of engines doesn't have the tattletale. What you are waiting for is the thermostats to open and water will exit out the exhaust relief hole on the rear. Until the thermostats open, water will not exit these holes.

i have a 65hp mercury outboard that will pee when i remove the hose but not while it is connected. there are no clogs i have already tested :confused:

Could one of you folks with a 1967 Johnson 60 please send me a picture of the steering linkage where it attatches to the motor. I just bought one and the linkage is gone. I have half the bracket but not the stuff to connect it to a cable. Thanks mocrouchs@vci.net
