I remember reading a thread a while back that Frank bought an old motor and did the H20 pump and found it had broken vanes.

I bought a 4hp Merc kicker last week and mounted it ready to use. Got to thinking that the guy said it wasn't used for over 10 years. Decided to replace the impeller. Found out, there wasn't one. All the vanes were sheered off, rubber pieces everywhere. No telltale on this model, comes out the prop so you wouldn't notice it.

Just a thanks to Frank for all your expertise. Definitely saved me from a motor meltdown.
