Shutdown by auto fire extinguisher - Volvo Evc engine

I am installing a new Volvo diesel (D2-40F) with the Evc CANBUS system. I am also replacing my automatic fire extinguisher, and wish to take the opportunity to connect it to shut down the engine when discharging. The traditional way of doing this is to intercept the connection to the fuel shutdown solenoid. However, Fireboy technical support told me that there is probably a way to intercept the shutdown switch signal from the control panel, which would be preferable. I haven't yet found any information to accomplish this, ideally with a ready-made cable with mating Volvo connectors, but if not possibly by splicing into the cable harness (discouraged by Volvo).

Anyone dealt with this problem and able to offer help?

Contact your Volvo dealer, If I remember correctly (been a few years since I was around those engines) there is an adapter for the harness for the PCU or maybe the PCU that will do that. But those things change every year, so might as well as those that know.
