I have a 20 HP(200) 1974 Model that once was set up for electrical start. I now want to use it in a manual start mode only and starter, etc has been removed. Cranks and runs fine but can't figure
how to reconnect the stop/kill button on side of motor. Have to choke it down to stop it.

Re: shutdown switch not connected

Shorting the black & yellow wire to ground (black wire) will kill it. The black & yellow connects to terminal #5 on the cdi module.

c/6
Hooty

Re: shutdown switch not connected

Hooty,

I figured out to reconnect the salmon colored wire to the kill switch. This works fine. There was a little Lead connector on the wire that was broken off. I just connected the wires without the connector and it works but makes a clicking sound when I hit the kill switch. Does the lead connector need to be on there to reduce the voltage or is that not an issue at all. Don't want to mess up the pack.

Thanks.
