Any chance of a photo for clarification?
What kind of boat?
Do the Brackets have boards? With Carpet?

Lots of questions here before a proper answer.

If your trailer is set up right the bunks should guide the boat onto the trailer, but the side bunks shouldn't rub the side of your boat when all the way on the trailer.
