Side counsel to full windshield

I have a 17' Lund aluminum with a side counsel. I wanted to go to a full windshield. I found one that is the same width. I was wondering if this is possible and what would be involved. I wouldnt add a second counsel, I was just looking at building a frame. Attached is the boat and the windshield I am looking at buying.

How would you attach it the side without the counsel? Not saying it could not be done but I am wondering how solid it would be without a good attaching point on the no counsel side.

I was thinking of using an aluminum angle iron.
