Side effects of a chewed up prop?

Hey! I have a 5 hp Merc (1994) and the prop is pretty beat up and gouged. I feel it should move the boat faster. From what I see, the original prop was a 7" pitch, and the one that is on the motor now is 8" pitch.

The motor and boat is nice and smooth (idle to 3/4 throttle) until I go WOT, then my aluminum boat vibrates like crazy! It also does not seem the motor is revving as high as it should at wot. I have no tach so I cannot say for sure... I normally carry 3 people total on boat, battery, and electric trolling motor and gear. I do not expect this motor to plane this boat, 13' valco V aluminum. But I am hoping to move it a little faster going down to the original 7" prop and hopefully stop the vibrations.

Thoughts?

a new prop will likely help the speed and vibration. dont expect any miracles.

Thanks! Yeah, no miracles expected! Just want it to be where it should and not vibrate at WOT. My boat is a real old tin can, so some of it is attributed to that as well.

I ordered the 7" Pitch prop, so we will see.
