Side Mount a Trolling Motor on a Jon Boat?

I have just acquired a 14' Tracker Topper and I was wondering if anyone has ever setup a Trolling Motor on the front right or left side front corner area of the boat's bow!?! I cannot seem to get a Mount that will work (enough clearance) on the front due to the width and/or thickness of the "C" clamp to be positioned over the front lip of the boat.

Which applications have you installed or put together!?! A specific mount setup?

***Pictures would really be helpful***

Thank you for your help!!!

I am considering such a thing. Trolling motors work best off the front of the boat. There are literally 100s of pre-made mounts to get the job done on the front.

I suggest you look at these images for inspiration https://www.google.com/search?q=tro...yGsG42AWP5oCgCA&ved=0CFkQsAQ&biw=1668&bih=887
Thank you for stopping by. I'm attaching a link with some pics of the Mount I'm trying on the front corner side. Looks like it should work fine!!!

I hope you will report back and let us know how a side mounted motor works. My time, even retired, is worth more than that sells for. I may just but one with a positive review from you.
