Since there is another topic on the windshield or the glass what about the frame.
I have a Bayliner 1700 and the rear part of the starboard side is missing the window and the top frame. I think I understand why also. The reason is it is hard to get in and out with the window in place so the guy broke it out and tossed the frame.

Personally I dont want to replace the frame and glass the same way for the same reason. Bayliner actually has the frame and glass for 400 dollars.

What I want to do is to leave the existing windshild and leave in place but build a triangle that is 2 time longer than the existing side window. Let me claify this for you.
I want to take a line straight down from the top of the existing windshield. Then measure from the bottom to the front of the windshield (about 15 inches) So then I want a single piece of aluminum that goes from the top of the windshield to the rear bottom. The bottom track is still in the boat and is about 5 feet long. I will just need a new side window (1 piece) instead of 2. I will do this to both sides of the boat. The side will be about 40 inches on the bottom. I will just cut the bottom Frame to fit.

Where can I get the aluminum framing? I just need a straight piece.
