Sierra Impeller kit missing face seal gasket

Hey guys
I'm doing the water impeller on my Alpha One Gen 2. Got everything off and am starting the reassembly process. Got the pump back on and went to put the face seal on (I think that's what its called)...the gasket that goes over the drive shaft and sits on top of the pump housing. The sierra kit I got does not have this gasket, nor the little plastic install tool that I apparently need. My question is, if the kit doesn't come with it, do I need a new one? Or can I put the old one back on...and if so can I put it on without the alignment tool. I called my local marine store, and of course they don't have it so I need to order it online which will take a few days.

You will find the slinger from an Alpha 25-30271 Sierra18-7426 works a lot better and easier to install

I was going to order a Sierra 18-2599-1...comes with the gasket and tool...should I not order that one and get the 7426?

You will find that the centrifugal slinger from an Alpha 25-30271 or Sierra 18-7426 works a lot better and easier to install

Versus using the original face seal design for the Alpha Gen 2 drive.

Alpha # 25-30271 & Sierra # 18-7426 is called an centrifugal slinger which were for the older Alpha one drive. The Gen 2 face seal is part/kit number 26-816575A2 or Sierra # 18-2599. http://www.iboats.com/Face-Seal-Tool-18-2599-Sierra/dm/view_id.172013

In my most perfect day I could never get the seal to sit right with the tool, started using the rubber slinger from the Alpha and never looked back
