finally figured out my up/down trim problem! siezed seals to the rods. How do i get the seals off? got the mercruser manual- no help. salt water got to it and the drive was left in the up position while doing a cross country trip. guess the up / down motion of freeway driving for 4 days must have worked salt into the seals. then it sat for a month in the up position...guess what? will not move at all.got the rams out of the housing and cannot rotate the seals at all. how do i get them off and do i need to replace them?- thanks all!

Re: siezed rods to seals on outdrive trim help!

I saw your problem 2 days ago - I hoped some one
would know of a site that would show you how to repair cylinders. I have never found one.

I have rebuilt over two hundred cylinders - Rebuild o- ring and end cap
kit is about $53 per cylinder - time is about 40 minutes per cylinder.
You will need an air compressor, with about 80lbs. pressure, and bench vise.
I can give you detailed instructions on how to rebuild - but it will be to long to post
on this site.

If you post a Hotmail or another throw away address - I will send
you instructions.
Do not post your primary address here.
