I have an 86 Bayliner Capri 1650, all the wiring and connections look great, fuses are good but the bilge blower, horn, and radio are all dead. Other acccessories like navigation lights and bilge pump work fine....so what the heck is going on?

1) Fuse missing or blown that you haven't found yet, possibly connected to a buss bar.

2) Wire crimped/broken/corroded feed all these items, possibly connected to a buss bar.

3) Corrosion problems stopping a completed circuit.

Start with one item first (I recommend the blower), and check power & ground with a test light or multimeter and trace back to the dash. You will find the issue along the way.

Always use a logical approach to troubleshooting. If you don't have a test light or a hand held volt meter buy one and learn how to use it. An electrical circuit must be complete for any device to work. Here is a simple diagram showing two lights and how current flows through the circuit. Using your test light or meter, start at the 12 volt input (called the "line side" of the switch and check for presence of power and proceed down the the line. If you get to the blower for example and you have power up to it, but it doesn't run, it is either lacking a good ground or the motor is bad.

Thanks for the advice gentlemen.....worked my way back to the blower, took it out and found that it was missing a blade, probably causing a vibration, probably causing the ground wire to vibrate off the post....which it had. Horn circuit is good, so ordered a new blower and horn today...should be on the lake next weekend.
