Folks, as you know, some of our regular users have older hardware and limited memory.

We ask that you keep your images relatively small. As a rule, please do not exceed 125 x 600 pixels and under 5k for a signature image or use the thumbnail version of the image if your host site allows it. This will ensure that the forums load quickly for all users.

Thanking you in advance for your cooporation.

Mod4

Re: Signature Image Size

Because iboats is not the host site for these images size changes must be made by the originator.

Re: Signature Image Size

I will check with our programmer to see if we can limit image size in signature only. This could be a solution. As long as we can still maintain the capability of posting boat, family or thread related pics their original size.

Large images in a signature take up space every time you post and can make it an arduous task opening threads for our many dialup members.

Example:

My in-the-sticks dial up takes about 5 minutes to load the "Little Red Truck update" thread.

More than four minutes of that is loading multiple pictures of the mentioned truck and other big graphic signatures.

Re: Signature Image Size

not to mention it is annoying as heck to have to
scroll down an entire page just to read 10 lines
of actual posting.
should be very simple to set a limit on the server
for the sig.

If your going to post something like that, keep it on for a couple days and take it off.
If anyone's going to see it they will by then.
