Silly Question, from a Beginner

Hey cool forum...I kinda have a stupid question. I just got a boat and it has a Evinrude 25 motor, its a early 90s motor i think. i can lock the motor down so it wont move up and down, but is there a way to keep it from going right or left?

why would you want to.... there are ways on most outboards that you can tighten the steering so it doesnt "flop" around so much, but please, tell me why

Bungee cord it if trailering is what you are referring to. If you mean on the water, there should be a steering tension screw located on the port side of the motor bracket....

yeah, thats what i was referring to, while trailering the boat. i just got the boat saturday havent had it on the water yet just wanted to know how to keep it in place while going to the lake, i have a bungee on it already..thank you
