Just saw one at the boat show and did a google search and only found a small write up at boatingmag.com. Anyone have info on the quality of these pontoons ? The wife are interested in maybe buying one.

Thanks

Re: Silverwave Pontoon

I saw a write up on them in Pontoon and Deckboat magazine but it is the first time I have heard of them, more than likely it is an existing company that has just come out with a new name.

If you find the article on line read it with a grain of salt, thay aren't know for doing the most objective tests and I have never sen them say ANYTHING bad about any boat they have tested because all there add revenue is from the boat companies but it does tell you about them anyhow.

If I remember I will look at the article again and see where they are made but it is at least a new brand if not a new company.

Re: Silverwave Pontoon

Asking around I found out they are a new company in Seminole, Oklahoma. They hired the guy that used to run the Beachcomber pontoon factory here in Oklahoma after they went out of business. They even bought some of the Beachcomber equipment.

Re: Silverwave Pontoon

That is what I found out too, I thought it was an existing company that just rebranded its boats but they are new, pretty ballsy to start a company now I think.

I know Southbay used to be Oddesey, the joke at work was that there quality was so bad they had to change names to stay in buisness.

Couldn't tell alot from the picture that was in the mag, I would have to actually see one ot see how they actually build the boat to make a call, if I get bored I may get on there web site and poke around.

The only thing that would worry me is if they will still be around in 3-4 years for warranty stuff.

Silver Wave is a new boat line by the builders of Blue Wave Boats, who have been in business for many years. They recently built a new plant in Seminole, OK and moved from a smaller facility in Checotah, OK. With the added capacity and an opportunity to purchase the assets of an existing pontoon boat manufacturer, they started Silver Wave. They currently build 7 pontoon models with additional models to come in the future and can do customization. This is a family owned and run business with the owners taking an active part in the day to day building of each and every boat, whether it be aluminum or fiberglass, therefore the utmost attention is given to quality and detail in manufacturing of the boats. Plant tours are welcomed and encouraged to see this in process.
