simple question

I just bought a rebuilt mercury 7.5 hp outboard. Can I store the engine (for short period, 1 week) on it's side?

I want to build a stand for it, but it will take me a week and I need to take the engine off the boat.

Carbs up or down is best. Shifter side up is second best.
