Simple wiring question

I feel kind of dumb asking this but, I have a 1991 50 hp force and need to know were to connect the power cable from the battery in the engine.<br />Thanks for the help.

Welcome to iboats fellow cheesehead. <br /><br />The black negative grounds to the block. Some have a place to screw to the base under the block toward the back. Red positive to one side of the starter solenoid. (One solenoid big terminal leads to the starter. Batttery + goes on the other big one.)

Thanks, It's been alot of years since I worked on an outboard. Every one here is very helpfull.

You are right about the Alley. Sorry to say I can't make it by the 24th had to special order control cables for the boat. hope to have it in the water by the week end.

The event is June 24. Even if you dont have the boat up and running you are still invited. Lots of people there with boats and a bunch of interesting people there to chat with.
