Since 2007 all I have been hearing on the news is the mortage crisis, unemployment, foreclosures, etc. When are people going to adjust their lifestyle to their situation. If you got laid off in 2008 and were getting paid $75K a year and still haven't been able to find a job. When do you start looking at jobs that don't pay $75K a year??? Some people I know who are unemployed are unemployed because they want to collect unemployment and sit at home. It's getting to the point where I am sick of hearing about all this. People need to get off their lazy *** and find work. If you can't afford your house, don't live there. People need to start facing reality.

Re: Since 2007...

That sounds like someone who is not unemployed and doesn't have a threat of forclosure looming over him.

Some guy has a $250,000 mortgage on his home that appraises at $125,000; he has a MBA so nobody wants to hire him for blue collar work because he will leave when (if) an opportunity that requires a MBA comes along. Even if he gets a blue collar job his unemployment is more than the pay.

I suggest you walk a few miles in his shoes and face some realities before you start bashing .

+ 100,000,000
I "look" online once in awhile pretending I am out of work.
Many out there aren't pretending.

If nobody is hiring him because he has an M.B.A. then maybe he should take that off his resume. Plus, even if you have an M.B.A. and get hired at some corporation the job most likely will be entry level. I work in healthcare and have made $20.00 an hour to $50.00 an hour (Depending on where I work). Years ago I used to own a mobile detailing business (Mid-2000s). I stopped doing that as I was graduating school and was looking for a job with benefits. Well, I have that job and now I am looking to get back into the business part-time. I actually just got a call from a local body shop. My cousin has an M.B.A. from Pace University in Manhattan. He's working at his parent's restuarant. Is he applying for M.B.A. related work, sure is. However, he needs to generate an income. I think people need to wake up already. Another couple of years and this will be old news.

Re: Since 2007...

I have lived through four or five of these periods of terrible economy, high unemployment, etc.,etc.

I lost a house, a car, spent 2 years out of work before finally taking a job at less that I had paid in taxes two years earlier.

Unless you have been there. . .no, even if you have been there. . . insulting the victims of the current hard times is rude and will not be allowed.
