Since were talking about NGK Plugs, I recently had some work done on my 1991 225 HP Johnson OB. I had a new power pack and stater installed. Durring this repair the mechanic replaced my Champion plugs with NGK. Now she has a Idle problem that I didn't have before. It runs great at all speeds ecept idle. I think I'm going to go back to Champions. Can someone recomend the correct plug and Gap.
Thanks
Stoked_not

There are a couple ones recommended but I prefer the cooler plugs like the QL77JC4's in mine. Combustion heat is the mortal enemy of an outboard so with todays fuel I opt toward the cool side.

Just my preferance. Good luck!

and a recommended 0.30 gap, unless you're like me and it runs better at a wider gap. I gap mine at .040 and it runs better at low speed and idle.
