Size of Circuit Breaker

What size (amp) of circuit breaker would you want to use for a Minn Kota 12V. 55# Terrova to be on the safe side? I realize that too big of a amp.setting might do as much damage as too low. Thanks

60 amp. The motor draws a maximum of 46 amps so you might get by with a 50 but that would cut it really close.

Remember that you want to make sure the wiring also supports 60 amps.

And just so you know that amperage rating had nothing to do with damage.
It just allows more current to flow before it breaks.
In fact Minn Kota sells the same breaker, which is rated at 60 amps by the way, for all of their motors.
