Size Trim tabs for 1985 Wellcraft sportsman 248

I need to get tabs for this 1985 wellcraft 248 sportsman. It has a single merc 5.7 and alpha drive. I had lencos on my last boat and loved them.

I see I could get 12 x 12 or 9 x 18. Both would fit without issue. Which would offer better performance/ adjustability? Why?

I'd think the 9 x 18 because it has more surface area, and figure would help correct listing better, but not sure.

Any thoughts appreciated!

From what I've read about them you want the biggest tab you can put on your boat without it getting in the way....

Pretty much dictated my how much room you have on the transom.
