Hi there, I'm looking at buying a 17' 1996 Glastron SEI 175 with a 3.0 Mercruiser LX stern drive. The boat needs a new prop and seeing as it's a common fitout I wonder if someone could recommend an ideal prop (probably S/S) that works well for them. The boat will be used 99% for family skiing so awesome holeshot rather than top speed is the issue. Also, if there are recommendations on where to buy over the internet (new or s/h) these would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Never tried it personally but have had alot of customers use mercs HIGH FIVE prop they say the holeshot is great but it does takeoff a few mph on topend.

I have also heard great things about the High 5 prop; however, $500 was a bit beyond my buget. If this is also the case with you do a Google Search of Mercury Marine Props and look for their 4 blade aluminum prop. I bought one for about $150 online. Better hole shot than the 3 blade without too much loss of top end. If money is not an object lets hear from you later when you get the High 5.

its kinda of a gamble but think a 4 bladed 17" pitch would be the ticket an 19" for a cruise prop
