ski ray with 1992 magnum 350 5.l wiring diagram

just bought a 1992 ski ray with a magnum 350 5.7l need help with wiring an ignition switch and delco est distributor kit,

also any way of finding out what switches do what on dash as all wrighting has worn off

i also need two garboard plugs in the hull as the rear one has corroded and the centre plug is missing any ideas which ones i will need

As that's not genuine, try Delco.

also any way of finding out what switches do what on dash as all [size=+1]writing[/size] has worn off

Unless a wiring diagram has been supplied with the boat there's 2 ways of doing it. 1) turn the switch on and see what works. 2) follow each wire and find out what it goes to.

ok sensible answers please, done some searching and reasearch

for the ignition switch i have as followes so is this correct how to wire it up
red/purple battery feed to switch
orange? is this attached to accessory terminal
2 purple to accesory terminals
yellow/red stripe crank wirt to start terminal

i am using a universal switch labled b+ acc park and start

am unsure of the orange wire

First of all, you need to split your post up into three posts and put them in the correct forums.
The engine wiring and ignition switch wiring is fine here, but the helm switches should be in the electrical forum, there are basic boat wiring diagrams to help you there. The garboard plug question should be in the Boat topics (not engines) forum.

Now, your ignition switch should have three termainals Off, Start, and Ignition. Have no clue what Park is all about.
Red goes to (B) battery terminal, a yellow/red stripe wire goes to the (S) start terminal, and a purple wire goes to the (I) Ignition terminal Nothing should be attached to the accessory terminal of the switch.

The EST distributor was never used on Mercruisers carbed V8 engines, they used Thunderbolt IV on the 92's. Wiring can be changed, do you have an Alpha or Bravo drives? Makes a big difference.

With your wires colors.

Red/purple to B+, both purples go to the I terminal (I assume this is your park terminal????????) the orange wire should go to a separate fuse panel for accessories, NOT on the ignition switch.

Sorry about mixing posts
Accessory must be the I first turn on switch gives continuity on b+ and acc. Think it must be an automotive switch,
Is the orange wire not the feed for the accesories from the switch?

Need to find where the transom serial number is,

Boats DO NOT use accessories from the switch. The ignition switch is used for ignition and starting only. Accessories all come off a separate fuse panel.
That orange wire isn't even in the engine wiring harness. It's a separate wire for accessories put there by the boat manufacturer. It's normally fused with a 20 or 30 fuse at the battery or battery switch.

That makes it real easy, no shift interrupt system. Below you can download a copy of the instructions for the Michigan Motorz instructions.
Hook yours up as in figure 19.
