So guys I have been reading some of the posts on this topic for other boats so I first wanted to ask if this boat along with the 70 HP johnson is good enough to pull someone on ski's if not maybe tubes and floats.

This is my first boat and I have 3 girls none of which are over 110lbs so that would be my cargo! If my set up has enough go then my next question would have to deal with safety or any accessories that I should purchase outside of life vests and floats?

You should be able to but depends on weight of boat, hull design and motor condition. best bet is to try it and see if it works

I have a 16 foot starcraft with a 75 horse evinrude that i have had no problems with pulling people up. even with a boatload of people. So as long as your motor is running decent and there isnt too much drag from your boat you should be fine.

Should pull a skier if set up correctly. Weight distribution of all your gear is important.

Might be worth while to use a lower pitched prop, maybe with more blades (high five is ideal) for skiing.

I run a high five on a 150 hp bass boat. I change props for skiing to a lower pitched high five. Got one on the boat (the one I use for skiing), and after setting up the boat and tuning the engine, found I needed a steeper one for fishing. Found one at the prop shop for $100 perfectly reconditioned.

Even on a lower HP boat, a stainless prop will give you a remarkable performance increase over aluminum, just because the water piercing parts are thinner.

hope it helps

We ski with an 18 ft Starcraft Super Sport (Aluminum and old) with a 70 hp Mercury with little problem. It wouldn't pull a 225lb inexperienced skier out on a single but had no problem with an experienced skier the same size. The only problem it has is a tendency to bog down a little under a hard cut from a large slalom skier.
