Slack in a 60hp OMC

1991 60hp OMC I had a clanking noise and have found it to be in the number two cylinder. When you pull the plug and spin the fly wheel by hand you can tell it is coming from that cylinder. I was wondering if it is caused by the wrist pin that connects the rod to the piston head or if it is one of the bearing gone out on either the wrist pin or on the crank shaft. Or is it most likely the rod bearing retainer. That cylinder was rebuild a about a year ago. The compression on the motor is 120 on all three and it runs great other than the clanking noise on the number cylinder. Thanks for any help..

With the plugs out, rotate the engine so the piston is exactly at top dead center. Then rock the flywheel back and forth slightly from that point. If there is enough clearance to simulate the clank you hear, it could be any or all of the issues you mentioned. Compate that cylinder to the other two to confirm.

It looks like it is trying to throw a rod gotta tear it apart

Pulling the cylinder head will probably answer your question.

Nope the other end number two and three rod bearings. What causes the rod bearning to go out.
