Has anyone ever installed slat-wall before and is there anything I need to know?
I would presume as anything else it's best to ensure it's level when installing since gravity is of concern.

Basically I am going to attempt to remodel my garage. Right now I have a corner work-bench and I am going to tear it all out, install 2/3 of my back wall slat-wall with the 1/3 middle section Steel Pegboard and build a new 4' x 8' "island" workbench that I can roll around 360". Above this I am going to install some sort of cheap CL Cabinets with some under cabinet lighting.

The slat wall accessories are cheap and plentiful and I will utilize the pegboard for common hand / mechanic tools, wrenches and sockets. I will also be coating the garage floor with that grey sparkle stuff and rubber floor molding.

Eventually I would like to heat this thing too. If I do this right, I could section it off with some rolling barn doors so I can still fit my out drive in the summer, while closing the barn door for heat in the winter... I am open to ideas for this.

Also, has anyone installed a simple radiant heat solution and what are your opinions?

Checkout my rough sketch I made.

The slat wall isn't difficult to work with, just get a long screw tip to reach inside the valleys, or if you're going to paint it you can screw it anywhere.
Grainger's sells infared radiant natural gas heaters. You'll need to vent the radiant tubes to outside at both ends so consider that when you look at them and your space. Neighbor just put one in for a three car garage for $950 bucks. Much nicer than forced air heaters.
