I was having a problem with the connections at the slave solenoid battery side and I stripped the threads on the big post, there are 4 connecting wires on this post, the main battery cable, the heavy cable to the starter, and two other unknown positive eyelets I think are for the trim pump and something else doesn't matter at this point, the problem is when all cables are attached there is not much stud left to thread on the nut and thats why I stripped it out.
I'm having thoughts of using a piece of copper bar or something I can drill a hole into and bolt all the cables to, then use the nut post on the solenoid to bolt that down. Don have ever run into such a thing? I'm working on my OMC Ford 5.8 and the solenoid is mounted off the shift cable bracket in back facing rear, it's kinda in a bad place to work on. I put in one of those gear reduction starters and replaced the battery cables and thats what started the whole deal with the solenoid, now I need to replace that too, do you think my idea bolting the cables together could cause any unforseen problems? Thank you.
