I'm looking for my next place to go on our annual "Boatcation." Last year we went down to Tennessee and before that we did the Inland Waterway in Michigan. I've never been to the Sleeping Bear Dunes area and am thinking that's the ticket. We usually rent a house (preferably with a dock) and drag the boat with us. Does anyone have any recommendations on which lake to stay on as a base for boating and checking out Traverse City/Sleeping Bear? I've been looking at some nice places on Torch Lake and leaning that way, but it is a bit of a drive over to the dunes from there for a day trip or two. Anyway, I'm open to your collective wisdom and thoughts. We're looking at early in June (chilly, I know) and not much chance of big lake running in our little boat. Thanks all!
