I ain't freakin out lol but I do have my dunce cap on as I ask this. While cutting out the inner layer of glass to obtain room to remove all the rotten wood from the transom on my Laser I went to deep and penetated the outter skin and gelcoat. It is right in the middle of the built in jackplate area or transom extension whatever u want to call it. Ok is it best to repair this before I drop in the composite transom I have built or get it in the grind back to new transom board. She is getting new color so I ain't worried either way. Just want the strongest bond when done

You'll need to show us what the area looks like, from both sides. Place a tape measure or coin in view as a reference.

Re: Slipped with the Metabo

It's not a big deal and is rather common, just a little more cosmetic work on the outside. typically by the time you reglass everything on the insde the cut has more than enough glass over it to survive, if not a couple more layers will do the job. As to doing it before you start the rest of the work, it depends on exactly where it is, so like has already been said, pics are needed.
