slipping prop sensation

2003 sanger v210 pulling kids on wakeboards as they where coming out of water it felt as if prop was slipping in water (i know it is not the prop slipping it is just a sensation ) does anyone know if i should suspect the wagner drive or my transmision any info would be great.......THANKS:D

Speaking very generically:
If its the prop or transmission slipping your rpm would go up.
Is a wagner drive a V drive?I wouldn't think it would slip though
I think they generate a lot of heat that needs to be dissapated perhaps by an oil cooler. I believe the actual treansmission is similar to that on vintage inboards but hydralically operated. Usually there are 2 bands that operate forward and reverse by
locking the planetary set.I suppose they may need adjustment or perhaps the oil supply/pressure if any is low.

YES it is a wagner in the driveway i added fluid untill it was between the marks when it started slipping i checked it out on the lake and it showed it was low .... i am wondering if while in driveway i need to have boat at a certain level to get a proper reading

I would think it shouldn't be way out of what appears to be level.
If it is in a reasonably level position I would think the level would be close.
If I was going to try to check it in the drive I would level it first so it shows on the stick like it did in the water.Obviously the way to check it is in the water without anything to throw it out of level.
