My 20 hp merc slips into gear from the neutral position every time. I have to hold it while pulling the motor over because soon as I pull the cord and it fires up it shakes itself into forward gear. Its an older merc. I checked all the nuts and bolts and all is tight is there suppose to be a spring that holds this from slipping into gear.
