I have an 89 Merc 260 with an Alpha One. The control lever is really sloppy. Seems like it's loose as in from side to side. Before I tear this apart, it there a way to tight it up, or do they wear to this point?
Have you tried tightening the screw that holds it on? No, they typically don't get loose like that, but it isn't uncommon to have a nut/screw (whatever holds the merc ones on) back out.
