slow boat

I have a 1974 50hp envinrude on a 15 foot 830 pound bass boat. It only runs 15-18mph. please help

Assuming the boat isn't full of water, it is the same old story. It isn't running on both cylilders. Check spark, compression and carburetor. In that order. But don't ignore the simplest thing: Could just be a bad spark plug.

ok I replaced the plugs fire system, both cylider are pushing about 124 psi, i aslo clean the carbs the boat is dry and flatation flaom is dry as well i worry about the prop which is a 13 3/8 17

Might try a decarb.

Tach data would be helpful.

Is the 850 just the boat, or total weight with occupants, fuel and all?

What does the engine sound like when you punch out of the hole? Does it sound good and strong, or wimpy and misfiring? I know your stated speed is just on plane, but does the engine sound like it's lugging at WOT or is it singing.......helps in attempting to determine rpm's.

How long does it take to go from standing stop to your max speed?

What kind of hull does your boat have...shallow semi-V, deep V, trihull, pad?

What condition is it in....clean, barnacles, slime?

The 850 is without poeple, The motor sound great but idles a little fast and rough the boat does not plane and takes about a 1/4 mile to reach about 15 mph as for the boat it is very clean and has been waxed on the bottom. shallow hull ... what do you mean by a decarb

post apicture of it. also one of the stearn from the side so we can see how the bottom of the boat lines up the the bottom of the motor. when the box appears in the upper back space the line until clear, the hit ctrl v or paste. here's directions
