i have a slow leak in my trim res. i cant find it though. its not coming from the hoses and i cant find it on the sides, either. any suggestions? i thought about replacing the whole reservoir but no one can get the right one. i've already sent 2 back that were wrong. then i thought about sealing the bottom to the deck if thats where its coming from. very slow leak. so slow the deck gets slick by the rear seat without anybody noticing it till they slip! thx.

Why don't you just wipe it off really dry, spray it with some talcum powder. and operate it and see what is leaking.

i didn't know about dons talcum powder trick. seems like a good one. wish i'd have known about that when i had an elusive trim sys. leak on my last boat. i just kept wipeing it down and looking at ea. connection. after a lotta wipe downs and looking and replaceing trim fluid, i found the reverse lock valve leaking internally (not a connection)....just keep looking till it's found......

If it's not the hoses,it's most likely the resevoir, and they did have problems.I'd look for a Dealer that can access parts and service bulletins.

What year? what type pump? you can't get specific answers if we don't know what you are working on.
The 3L engines have been around forever, but things keep changing on them.
