Slowing down at high rpm

I have a 1988 70hp Evinrude, I bought it 2 months ago, It had not been run in two years. It it ran rough at idol. But seemed to be good through two tanks of gas. Now when I get into the higher rps it wont run good unless I take it down to 4000 rpms. Help

clean carbs and fuelpump replace hose and primer ball be sure tank is cleaned out . you may need to replace the diafram in the fuelpump. sitting that long dry it will git stiff and crack . papasage
