Hello
I have a 1990 Evenrude 120. I rebuilt this engine two years ago. All new pistons rings bearings & carb kit. The engine runs OK a little hard to start. But it seems to not have enough power to pop out of the hole. I put a fin on the foot and it allows it to get on plane otherwise it want plane off. It runs good on top end maybe a little less power than before rebuild. What shuld I check? Thanks for and advice
Hooked

Did it just start doing this or has it been acting this way since rebuilding it? What is your RPMs at WOT? Did you change the prop when you rebuilt it?

Re: Sluggish on take off

Yes it has been slugish on take off since rebuild. I bought the fin to get it on plane and it got me by. So Im digging up an old problem that I would like to get right. At WOT it runs about 5200 RPM. I am wandering if it is a timming problem. I know this is sensitive I dont want to lean the thing out. I also got rid of the VRO and mix 50:1 now. Also I seem to foul plugs often. Once it gets out of the hole the engine sounds great. Just not quite as fast and no power on take off.
Thanks
Hooked
