Small boat transom pad/plate

Just finishing up my new transom on my little 12' Starcraft. I though I had seen someone advertise a type of aluminum plate that screws to the transom and then the small clamps of the motor clamp against the aluminum. Anyone that can provide a lead for manufacturers?

My local Ace store has some relatively thick aluminum plate. A kick plate for a door bottom might be an idea. I have also heard of some folks using those plastic cutting boards in a similar fashion. If you need the strength though aluminum is best. Pics might help too.
