I've got a small evinrude outboard with model number GG9021A and serial number 55X602904. It needs a new pull start assembly and tiller arm throttle gear. I've used some of the links on this site and come up empty. On the model number I've come close with a 1970 9.5hp with numbers 9022 and 9023. When I looked at the parts catalog and manual the cowl looked much different on the 1970 evinrude than my engine. Is my engine a military model? If so, can I get parts for it or use parts of 1970 9.5hp. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Small Evinrude ID

what a great classic. GG9021A is a 1956 12 hp Gale, made by OMC, sharing many parts with Johnson/Evinrude. sold by Montgomery Wards, as a Sea King 12 hp. super great dependable engines. good parts at laingsoutboards.com, seaway marine.com. tcoutboards.com

the 2 knob adjustments will come in handy with that engine
