I'm confused. Copies of Evinrude and Johnson brochures I have found online noticably omit the number of cylinders on the small engines. Here is an example from 1997: http://rides.webshots.com/album/559448760OAsjGC
So maybe someone can give me an education here. In the 80's and 90's, it appears there was a 2hp and a 3.3hp which I assume were single cylinder units. Then there was a 3hp and a 4hp, where the 3 was the same motor except extra long shaft (25"). Then, of course, there were the 6's and 8's which were definitely twin cylinder outboards.
Question: Were the 4hp models singles or twins? And where did "Deluxe" fit into all this?
