I prepared my 1997 DT115STC for the summer as usual. Changed plugs, lower unit oil, greased zerks, etc. Also had to replace the water pressure sensor plug. It was leaking cooling water. I ran it for several minutes after replacing the plug. The next week I noticed a very dark oil slowly leaking out of the gear case just below the propeller shaft. Just a tablespoon at most on the garage floor. I am sure it is not gear case oil as it looks very dark - almost black. Checked gear case oil and it is clean - not creamy or cloudy. Any ideas? Oil ring or oil seal?

probably unburnt 2 stroke oil and fuel running out exhaust. Running too rich or cylinder not firing maybe.
could be from the fogging for winter set up.

If its only a little bit probably is unburnt 2 stoke. My old motor did that same thing. I kept it tilted slightly forward to keep it from getting on the driveway.
