I have a 77 Mercruiser 165 that I've been tinkering with for years. I'm getting ready to put it in the water for the first time (for me anyway) and I'm buttoning up a few loose ends. For some reason I cannot find a couple of the nylock nuts that I took off when adjusting the shift interlock, I think they are smaller than 1/4" but don't know for sure, also I removed the exhaust manifold drain plug and can't find it anywhere. I tried a 1/8" pipe plug and a 1/4 petcock valve and neither fit. Can anyone help me out with some sizes? Thanks.

Below are the parts catalogs for both your engine and drive. The first link is for your stern drive, if you can find the area that you're working on you should be able to locate the part numbers of the nuts you are in need of. The size may or may not be there but sometimes if you search the part number you might come up with a size. http://www.mercruiserparts.com/165-1970-1977-2763442-thru-4890459

For your exhaust manifold drain plugs, there seems to be 2 sizes for different spots so have a look at item numbers 4 and 5 as the sizes are mentioned, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/subassembly/30957/983/60
