So I have a 2008 Doral that I bought new in 2009.

There is a hairline split in the cap approx 2.5-3 inches long on the very top of the starboard stringer in the boat.

The marina has looked at it and is saying that it's basically cosmetic and not a big deal and that I can simply fill it with sealant/caulking.

Will get a picture this weekend but does this sound right?

No it doesn't. Do you have a hull warranty? You need to go to the manufacturer with this. The dealer will always try to dodge the work.

No way I'd want to "caulking" my two year boat. Take EZ's advice and contract the manufacturer on this one.
