A friend of mine is buying a new 150hp Optimax. I told him I had read about a Smart Monitor or (something like that) was made for the Optimax. It would give you a read out or code when something was wrong. I would assume the oil and water temp alarms would still function. If this is correct about a Smart Monitor being optional with the Opti would someone elaborate on its function and let me know how much they cost and are they worth the money? This friend has it at his boat house and lets friends borrow the boat all summer long. These friends don't know much about boats. They just get in and go. The reason for the new motor is because the present one has a cracked block. Probably the result of ignoring a buzzer!
