I have a 2008 Tahoe Q6 and the swim platform is in the way to install the SX trim tabs.

It's 2800 lbs with the V6 220 hp Alpha one.

The attached picture isn't my boat it's someone elses here on the forum but it shows the same angle as my boat. The red lines show the angles of my boat with the swim platform in the way and the yellow shows the only way I can install it to get around the swim platform.

I can get them installed if I move the setting all the way out like in the yellow line in the picture which is the #5 setting (strongest).

My questions are these?

1. Since this is the strongest setting should I still install them at 25 degrees
or 20 using the SX9510-80 ?

2. Since I won't be able to adjust these once installed and it'l be at the max setting should I just install the 60 Lb at 20 or 25 degrees ?

Definitely call John, 800-233-0194 , he will help, the photo you are using is of my boat. I called John before I installed and mine work great. I do not know much about the SX tabs but maybe there is a shorter cylinder you can get to change the angles. In the end call John.

FYI I called them and they said to go to the 60lb and keep the tabs at 25 degrees becasue that's what they are designed to work best for.

Re: Smart Tab Install Help

I felt like that would be the answer as the Tahoe stern is shaped a lot like my boat but was not sure so my advice was to call, I knew he could advise you properly. You will love the new ride when you get them tuned to your boat.

I just got done putting them on and man they seem like they would never hold up.

They are all plastic but I'm gonna trust their engineering and do a water test tomorrow hopefully!

How'd the water test go with your new tabs?

I broke the first two because of the angle so installed on the hole closest in. I had to cut away the other holes because of the angle they were hitting the acuators and bending them.

I have the 60's installed now and I love them. No bending or other issues and the boat handles perfectly.

I'll be testing a new enertia prop this weekend so that should be the cream on top :)
